Ford Ranger light bar for trail and back-road use
A Ranger often ends up on an overland route or a gravel lease road after dark, where the factory headlights run out of reach, so a light bar earns its place. The mid-size truck's electrical system is modest, so we size the bar to the alternator, wire it fused through a relay and a switch, and keep a cover on hand so the auxiliary light is off and legal on the highway.
- Light that reaches past factory headlights on dark roads
- Bar sized to the Ranger's modest alternator
- Fused relay wiring through a cabin switch
- A cover to keep it road-legal when stowed
Ford Ranger light bar fitment
There are two Rangers with different front ends, so the bar is ordered to the generation, then to the position. A bumper or grille bar fits most trims, while a roof bar needs a rack or gutter and a windshield-bar mount suits trucks that run an overland rack. The Raptor's wider nose changes bumper-bar clearance.
- Fifth generation 2019–2023 Ranger
- Sixth generation 2024 and newer Ranger
- Bumper, grille, roof and A-pillar positions
- Raptor's wider nose changes bumper-bar clearance
- Overland racks change roof-bar options
- Bar width matched to the mounting surface
Beams and sizes for a Ranger
Beam pattern is the decision that matters: spot for distance down a trail, flood for the ground around the truck, combo for both. We match a single-row bar for a low, tidy look or a dual-row for more output, and on a modest alternator we keep the total load sensible so the truck still charges well.
- Spot for distance, flood for spread, combo for the Ranger
- Single-row bars for a low, tidy profile
- Dual-row bars for more output on big roads
- Bumper and grille mounts for a clean look
- Roof or A-pillar mounts for overland trucks
How the Ranger light bar is installed
We wire once, fused and sealed, so the truck lights the road without electrical faults or a loose wire.
-
Confirm the generation, trim and position.
-
Check the Ranger bumper, grille or roof for clearance.
-
Mount the bracket and torque it to the Ranger's points.
-
Run a fused Ranger harness with a relay to the switch.
-
Seal every connection against dust and water.
-
Aim the beam and fit the cover.
-
Road-test for wind noise and electrical faults.
What a Ford Ranger light bar costs
A Ranger bar tracks the length, the row count and the mount, and it varies with the generation and trim. A single-row bumper bar is the low end and a full-width dual-row roof bar with a rack mount and wiring is the top, so treat each figure as a range.
- Single-row bumper bar
- $260–$650 installed
- Dual-row grille bar with wiring
- $420–$1,000
- Roof bar with a rack mount
- $520–$1,200
- Two LED pods with wiring
- $170–$430
Ranger light-bar parts and wiring details
- Single-row bars for a low profile over the Ranger's cab
- Dual-row bars for more output down a lease road

Fitment and cost guides
Plain answers before you order anything.
-
Camper Shell Fitment Guide
A camper shell fits when its base rail matches your truck's exact bed length, bed-rail height and cab, so a shell is ordered by year, cab and bed rather than by badge alone.
-
Tonneau Cover Fitment Guide
A tonneau cover fits when its rails and clamps match your truck's exact bed length and rail system, so a cover is ordered by year, cab and bed rather than by a size name.
-
Truck Accessory Costs
A single truck accessory in the Rio Grande Valley runs from about $260 for a soft tonneau cover to $3,800 for a painted camper shell, with most items landing between $400 and $1,500 installed.

What Fits My Truck
What fits your truck depends on its year, cab, bed length and trim, because two trucks with the same name can take different covers, shells, bars and lighting.

Questions about this fit
Do 2019–2023 and 2024 Ranger light bars fit each other?
The mounts are close but the front ends differ, so we order by generation to be safe. A bumper bar built for the older truck may not line up on the new one's fascia.
Will a light bar drain my Ranger's battery?
On a fused relay it only draws while switched on, and we size the load to the alternator. Kept on its own switch, it does not tax the battery during normal running.
Is a light bar legal on the road in a Ranger?
Auxiliary bars are off-road lights, so keep a cover on and use the factory headlights on the highway. The switch lets you run it fully off in traffic.
Bumper or roof mount for a Ranger?
A bumper or grille mount is simplest and keeps the low profile, while a roof mount throws further on an overland truck. We help you pick based on where you actually drive after dark.
Spot, flood or combo beam for a Ranger?
Spot for distance, flood for the ground around the truck and combo for both. We match the pattern to your roads, since the wrong beam wastes the bar's output.
How long does a Ranger light bar install take?
A bumper or grille bar is usually a half-day, and a roof bar with interior wiring and a switch takes longer. We route and seal the harness once, so it does not rattle afterward.
Why Valley drivers bring their trucks here
- Accessories confirmed against your exact year, cab, bed and trim before ordering.
- A written estimate that separates the part, the hardware and the fitting.
- Fitting that seals, wires and torques to the truck's own mount points.
- A settling check after the first miles, because rail seals and clamps move.
